MEET THE GROUP

Judy Brown - Founder of Old Glroy Quilters & Quilts of Honor

"After being deployed to Iraq, I wanted to come home and make a difference. Everyone has a story and I believe I can tell mine by the stitches that I put in a Quilt of Honor. When I present a quilt to a Veteran, young or old, and see his or her smile, or tears it makes me feel that my service to my country is honored. I new that I could not do this mission alone. As a group, our first quilt presented in this area was to Matt Kinsey, an amputee who served in Afghanistan. this weekend (7/4/16) we will have presented 1100 Quilts of Honor."

"One of my favorite moments was on May 28, 2016 when we got to present twenty Quilts of Honor, 12 for WWII veterans and 8 for Pearl Harbor survivors."

Madonna Babyak - Co-Founder of Old Glroy Quilters & Quilts of Honor

"My best moment was when I presented a WWII Veteran a Quilt of Honor and he said 'no one ever thanked me before'."

Liz Boardman

"I enjoy seeing the veterans faces when they see the Quilt of Honor. It's also a lot of fun and with a great group of ladies."
